Students currently enjoy 24 hour access to our studio facilities and we aim to run the programme with approximately one dedicated audio computer between two. This facility is often augmented by student’s laptops, that can connect to the University network wirelessly.
The Russolo Room
The Russolo Room boasts a dedicated 5.1 Genelec 1030 Surround Sound design studio located in the Music Department. This space runs a Macintosh Xeon Quad Core processor with 4Gb ram and 750GB of dedicated Hard Disk space. The Genelec surround system is augmented by a stereo pair of Genelec 1032 loudspeakers and sub unit. Relative amplitude of all speakers is controlled with an SPL 5.1 studio fader.
The machine runs Pro-Tools 8 with an 8-channel Digidesign 002 rack mounted sound card. For other sound software we use an RME fireface 800.
