Admission to the degree is open to candidates with a University degree or equivalent in a sound-related discipline (such as music, sound engineering, acoustics, film, animation, or art/design) or other relevant discipline (such as computer science, architecture, education, cognitive science, psychology or other qualification deemed appropriate by the Head of School).
Students can be admitted on the basis of a portfolio of work. We look for evidence of basic computer competencies and experience of sound in a creative, technical or academic context amongst applicants.
This programme can be undertaken full time in one year or part-time across two years.

We recommend applying by the 31st of March. The course is popular and places are limited and having an offer of a place to study with us helps with the technicalities of moving to Edinburgh and in the search for funding.
